Terms of Use

Last updated 13 July 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Snappy Technologies Inc.'s ("Snappy", "we", "us") money transfer service between Canada and Nigeria. By creating an account or sending a transfer, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old, a resident of Canada, and legally able to enter a binding agreement to use Snappy. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it up to date, and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity on your account.

2. Identity verification and compliance

Snappy is registered with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) as a Money Services Business and is subject to the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act. Before you can send a transfer, we must verify your identity and may request government-issued ID, proof of address, or the source of funds. We screen senders, recipients, and transactions against sanctions and watch lists, and we may delay, hold, or decline a transfer, or file a report with regulators, where required by law.

3. Sending a transfer

You are responsible for entering accurate recipient details, including the receiving bank account or mobile-money number in Nigeria. Snappy is not liable for funds sent to an incorrect recipient because of information you provided. Once a recipient confirms receipt, or funds are disbursed to the payout method you selected, the transfer is complete.

4. Exchange rates and fees

We show you the exchange rate and any applicable fee before you confirm a transfer. The rate is live and may change until the moment of confirmation; the rate and amount shown at confirmation is the one that applies to your transfer. Where Snappy advertises zero transfer fees, this refers to our own service fee and does not include any fees your bank or mobile-money provider may separately charge.

5. Delays, refunds, and failed transfers

Most transfers arrive within minutes, but delivery times can be affected by verification checks, banking hours in Nigeria, or issues with the receiving bank or mobile-money provider. If a transfer cannot be completed, we will refund the amount received from you, less any fees already incurred with third parties, to your original payment method within a reasonable time.

6. Prohibited use

You agree not to use Snappy for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering, terrorist financing, or transactions involving sanctioned individuals, entities, or jurisdictions. We may suspend or close your account immediately if we reasonably suspect a violation of this section.

7. Limitation of liability

Snappy provides the service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for delays and failures caused by third parties such as banks, payment networks, or events outside our reasonable control.

8. Complaints and dispute resolution

If you have a complaint, contact us first using the details below and we will aim to resolve it promptly. Unresolved complaints regarding a possible violation of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act may also be directed to FINTRAC, though FINTRAC cannot assist in recovering funds or mediating individual disputes.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the app, and continued use of Snappy after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
